Born in 1983 and coming from the "Limousin" (France), I was fond of computer science since I was 14, when I got my first computer. Then I quickly started programming with Visual-Basic. As soon as it was possible, I made my school courses moving towards this particular area: Bep Electronique then Bac Pro "informatique" then a "Deust".
Going through my studies, I also started to develop an hosting service for gamers... this idea sounded great to me. Moreover I couldn't stand waiting to start with PHP. Therefore after 6 months developping, www.RoxorGamers.com was created. I would like to mention the fact that I was helped by Senka (a designer) and Legolas (a programmer). Well, thanks to this project, I discovered system administration with Linux, Free software, other programming languages, databases... Then came the end of the "Bac Pro", i.e. the beginning of a tough year that went on with a "contrat de qualification" with a self-employed person specialised on Free software. I was already delighted with this, but there it was total immersion and the ethical understanding of this environment.
Something like 2 years passed since the launch of RoxorGamers... success was there (almost 500 000 pages seen every day, 12 000 websites hosted) but because of a lack of time and also because I wanted to discover something else (since that kind of project requires a lot of time), I decided to sell it and to focus on both my professional and academic future. At that time, I was doing a "contrat de qualification" and studying at the same time.
Now I am working self-employed as a multi-media developper but I also am an associate in a "SSLL" (Free Software Service Company). This company is DLCube (www.dlcube.com) which stands for "Developpement de Logiciel Libre en Limousin" (Free Software Developping in Limousin). We are working exclusively with Free software, trying to contribute as much as we can in that particular area.
As you can see, I am giving this website, this adventure, a very personal touch... I do believe SkillPowered is a good project, and I don't have any special expectations. Nevertheless I would like, just like I did with RoxorGamers in its time, to discover new stuff, learn new programming languages (C++), apply my skills through an innovative project and thrill the gamers with it.

The main goal of this project was to allow gamers to be able to follow the evolution of their "skill", as well as their gaming profile. With time, it is expected this website become a reference for gamers when talking about finding a team or for teams looking for players.
The principle is to "listen" what the gamer does and to record his "gaming runs" to send it afterwords to a huge database. Therefore, frags, deaths, details about the deaths are recorded and then analysed. Thanks to that, we are able to create one profile for every gamer displaying all these datas, detailed monthly. So it is really easy to know things such as total gaming time, weapons efficiency, increase or decrease of the skill and much more... Besides of all these possibilities, we offer gamers the opportunity to gather by team/group, so then to have an average skill of gamers playing in the team/group. Another feature called "The views" allow gamers to create a ranking which will only include his friends.
Of course, there is a ranking of all the gamers, but people shouldn't consider it as very representative, because this ranking depends a lot of the maps played, of the gaming type (Free For All, match, size of the server). In short there is no system-fight with HLStats or Psychostats. SkillPowered counts the score depending of the gamers' various actions... When a gamer kills another, the system does not take into account who has been killed (i.e. does not care about the skill of the dead gamer). Well, it's all about average skill, not ranking of the gamers' skill.
As you would have understood, recording gamers evolution on the servers works through a light program entirely passive, a program to be installed on the computer of the gamer.
